Dr. Mimansa is a medical doctor with multidisciplinary training in clinical pathology, laboratory medicine, clinical informatics, nutrition sciences, environmental toxicology, functional medicine, precision medicine, and Ayurveda. She earned her MD from the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University. She completed residency training in clinical pathology, additional training in clinical informatics, and postdoctoral training in environmental toxicology at UCSF. She is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP), has completed peptide-focused training through A4M, and is director of precision pathology on the American Board of Precision Medicine.
A former Medical Director at Genova Diagnostics and faculty consultant in physician medical education with the Institute for Functional Medicine, Dr. Mimansa’s work focuses on precision medicine and the role of personalized nutrition, circadian health, and lifestyle interventions in promoting healthy longevity. Her academic and research experience includes work in hematology and oncology, including breast cancer and melanoma, with broader interests in cancer biology, precision diagnostics, environmental health, metabolism, and healthy aging.
Her perspective on whole-person health has also been shaped by training in Ayurveda and mind-body practices and by immersive retreat experiences centered on restoring physical and emotional well-being following periods of significant psychological stress and trauma. These experiences deepened her interest in the relationships among stress physiology, circadian rhythms, nutrition, emotional health, psychedelic therapies, and the body’s capacity for resilience and recovery.
Dr. Mimansa’s commitment to prevention was profoundly influenced by the loss of her mother to breast cancer early in her career. A mother herself to a teen girl, aspiring artist, nature lover, and cultural explorer, she believes in the inherent dignity and potential within every human life and in each person’s capacity for resilience, transformation, and growth. Her approach brings together scientific rigor, precision medicine, and a deeply individualized understanding of the whole person.
